No windows media player detected but have player

Right-click the "Windows Logo" Start Button, choose "Control Panel" and from within the control panel window, change the 'view by" in the top-right corner to "Small Icons" and then locate and click on "Programs and Features". From the left-side of the "Programs and Features" window, click on "Turn Windows features on or off" and in the "Windows Features" window that appears, scroll down the list until you find "Media Features" and expand it to see "Windows Media Player".

If it is checked When done There is no "Media Features" in "Programs and Features" I had this problem too. I bet you are using Win 10 Pro N. You can check by running Notepad, Help, About.
