Forms and SharePoint surveys provide two similar solutions. Forms is easier to use, which makes it a better solution for people who are not SharePoint administrators. SharePoint Online provides a more mature and feature rich solution, but it is more complicated to use. For my specific situation, I ended up using Forms for my survey. The primary reason was so that I could collect responses from people who did not have accounts within the Office tenant. Microsoft Forms allows for easier external guest access.
SharePoint Online no longer supports public facing sites. So, for anyone to use my SharePoint survey they need to authenticate into Office If you are a SharePoint Online power user or administrator, then the SharePoint solution gives you more flexibility. Is there a way to embed add images into the survey questions?
Also is there a way to increase text range in likert rating question to more than 3? Hi- Anyone here knows , how i can create a Likert scale survey with statements on both sides of the scale?
I am looking to create a questionnaire for 17 departments in an organisation, so the results will demonstrate each departments results and the overall results. Should I create 17 surveys and then collate the answers or is there an easier way. In fact Ideally I want to create another layer, 9 questionnaires for different roles within the 17 departments!! The example we will use is to create a survey that asks employees to answer questions about their previous training in the organization.
Scroll down the list and ensure that the 'Team Collaboration Lists' feature says 'Active'. If it doesn't click 'Activate'. If you aren't an administrator, you need to find one to get them to activate this feature.
It's time to add some questions about the employees training needs, so let's ask away! You can obviously select your own questions and choose the relevant answer type e. My questions were :. To add questions, use the ellipsis three dots to the right of the survey option you just created and select settings.
Enter your question, select the question type, and consider the appropriate response to all of the additional question settings provided. You can return and amend these at a later stage, so when you're happy, repeat the process using the 'Next Question' option or 'Finish' when you've added all of your questions.
To amend any question, simply click on it in the question list, you can also add further questions or change the order using the options provided. As this stage you may be totally happy with the survey and it's ready to go!
However, there may be a few additional things you want to do from here. The name is required and appears at the top of the survey page. The name also becomes part of the web address for the survey page, and it appears in navigational elements that help users to find and open the survey. To enter a description and to specify navigation and survey options, select More Options. In the Description box, enter a description of the survey.
To add a link to this list on the Quick Launch, in the Navigation section, select Yes. For more info about formulas, see Examples of common formulas in SharePoint Lists. Tip: You can add or change questions later, if needed. When you return to the Survey Settings page, if you don't see your survey on the Quick Launch bar on the left of the page, and would like to follow these steps.
On the Quick Launch, under Display this survey, select Yes. You can also change the name, add a description, show user names in results, and allow multiple responses here if you'd like. To see your survey, in the breadcrumb navigation at the top of the page, or on the Quick Launch bar on the left, select its name. If you want the data from the survey to be available for offline viewing or analysis in Office clients, select Settings , and then select Survey Settings.
Tip: In most cases, you can use the Site Actions menu instead to complete this step. The name appears at the top of the survey page.
The name becomes part of the web address for the survey page, and it appears in navigational elements that help users to find and open the survey.
To create additional questions, select Next Question , and then enter information for the next question. Questions are listed in sequence as you create them, but sometimes you need to change the order.
For example, you are using Branching logic and want all questions pertaining to a subject to be asked before branching. To change order, follow these steps. In the header of the survey, select Settings , and then select Survey Settings.
In the Settings dialog, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and select Change the order of the questions. In the Change Column Ordering dialog, change the numbers under Position from Top to put the questions in the order you want.
