Then I saw that you wanted a PM with the link, but I cannot use this feature yet You can delete it now. Just wanted to confirm that - as per now - the solution deleting the xml-file seems to be working.
Have a nice day onwards and once again, thanks for your time and effort. From what I can tell, it has to do with the xml's. The 'settings import' doesn't seem to work as before. The solution is to manually replace, or delete the respective xml always save your xml's manually before installing a new OS. I could describe the problem with more detail, but I guess jwick and other developers are on it. It's a relatively new problem. It drops files in the middle of a running driver.
More than likely the files are from an old CfgFormatVersion because you saved them in an older driver. The driver doesn't handle the upgrade of these correctly when they drop down from the sky. It only tries to upgrade cfg files when it starts. Importing while the driver is not running probably solves that. But 3DxSmartUI always starts the driver So as Phil mentioned, doing the unzip manually outside the driver should fix that it's just a zip file.
I'm looking at it. Please mention if you are using the GUI's Import functionality when this happens. The OP was not doing that. That's a different problem. The definition isn't tightly qualified so it gets used when it should not be e. I'm looking at that one too. All will be fixed. For each app you are running when you open the Menu, the Menu app will use an existing. Take a look at the. You can manually edit the. This allows the controller to emulate a keyboard, mouse and joystick.
You can see it working if you use the Chrome browser and find that you can scroll with the controller. It is reading the Chrome. The main limitations for using it in-game are:. You still need to install the 3DxWare driver. And when you install ControlMyJoystick the installer will add a controlmyjoystick. This controlmyjoystick. ControlMyJoystick also allows you to:. The install also adds a Tetherscript Virtual Joystick driver.
ControlMyJoystick will take controller axis data, apply curves to it, and then pass it through to the Tetherscript Virtual Joystick driver. Then game then needs to read the joystick axis and button data from this driver. This can be tricky because the game may be able to see both the KMJ driver as well as the Tetherscript Virtual Joystick driver.
This will bring up a configuration screen:. Sidebar Panel Try moving the controller puck and you will see the axis indicators move in the 3DxWare sidebar panel. Rather annoyingly now the Fit All doesn't work when previously it did I had managed to 'programme' that one in. This is now not happening so can only put it down to the updated driver.
I've contacted 3D Connexion several times over the last 3 years or so about the lack of Microstation drivers and each time they palmed me off with a 'you need to speak to Bentley Systems. Though on the one hand do they have seemingly a valid point. It used to be 3 years ago?????? I see that the Space Explorer Help file still makes now mention of Microstation, Though it is dated October , I'm assuming this gets updated with the driver updates, Do you work with Task Navigation open?
If not that would explain those not working. Open Task Navigation and dock it pinned to a tab and they should operate correctly. This will include 'Fit All' for the same reason. I set the commands to use Position Mapping shortcuts associated with the Main Toolbox in the Task Navigation dialog, although was already reviewing that decision. The current alternatives are:. I'm talking direct to 3DConnexion to make sure what I do with the settings files is validated and to help with updating their documentation.
I miss the possibility to change Display Styles. For example to be able to toggle between Wireframe and Illustration. MicroStation
